SCRATCHYRAMP INVENTS PET RAMP THAT’S ALSO A CAT SCRATCHER

Cat Owners Find Four-Paw Scratching Stops Destructive Scratching!

LAS VEGAS – November 11, 2019 – The developers of a novel pet ramp have discovered an important cat-specific use for their invention: cat scratcher. Like traditional dog ramps, the ScratchyRamp™ pet ramp helps kittens, senior cats and mobility-challenged cats to access high places like beds, chairs and couches. It is also appeals to cat owners looking to save their carpets and furniture from damage caused by their cats’ claws.

ScratchyRamp Director of Sales and Marketing Katherine Schneider explained: “Most people associate pet stairs or ramps with small dogs. But as an owner of three felines myself, I know cats can also require help getting on and off furniture. That’s why we decided to make a pet ramp for kitties. We’re equally excited that it offers a secondary — or for many cat owners, primary — benefit. Hence the word Scratchy in the name.”

The carpet-covered, heavy-duty ramp is different from traditional cat scratchers in that it enables cats to exercise all four paws at once. “All cats need to scratch. It stretches their muscles. It supports claw health. And it just feels good,” said Ramon Van Meer, co-founder.  “But too often clawing can be destructive. Owners complain of otherwise well-behaved cats ripping apart expensive carpeting and furniture. They’re doing that with their front paws only.”

As the owner of three cats herself, Schneider had firsthand experience with this problem.  Despite having traditional cat scratchers around the house, her cats just seemed to prefer carpeted and upholstered areas.  She brought a ScratchyRamp home to help her 14-year-old reach the bed. To her amazement, all three felines cease their destructive scratching immediately.

ScratchyRamp is based on the premise that four-paw scratching is more calming and efficient than two-paw scratching. It’s like walking on a carpet-covered inclined treadmill. The surface is big enough that even large cats can comfortably exercise all four paws at once, thus preventing thickening in all paws. Owners can adjust the angle in increments from 12 to 24 inches to reach furniture of various heights. Cats can choose to scratch “up” or “down” or “sideways” on the ramp.

Recent purchaser Agnes C. commented “… makes life much easier for our 17-year-old Baby. She uses the scratching part so enthusiastically that she no longer scratches the furniture.”

Whether their primary goal is supporting a mobility-impaired cat or halting destructive scratching behavior, ScratchyRamp was designed to help cat owners address both problems with one innovative solution.
