Navratri Enters into 8th Day; Devotees Throng Temples across Different States

New Delhi, Monday, April 7 –  Durga Navratri, an auspicious nine day festival to worship Hindu deity Maa Durga, entered into the eighth day on Monday. Several people thronged to temples in the national capital and offered prayers to Mahagauri, following full procedure of worshipping.

Nine forms of the Hindu goddess are prayed during this period since she is considered as supreme source of bringing love, success and prosperity in life. Those who were unable to turn up in the temples offered prayers at their residences. Festivity gripped countrymen as Kanya Pujan was performed today. The same is expected to continue at some places on Tuesday as well on the occasion of Ram Navami.

The entire preparations for Chaitra Navratri were at top gear a day ago. Shopkeepers witnessed enthusiastic crowd and sold red chunaris and other worshipping stuffs a tad more than the actual costs. Rates of fruits and veggies stayed a little bit up during this period.

Since devotees visit Vaishno Devi Dham, Vindhyavasini temple and Mansa Devi at this time, due to this, security arrangements stepped up to avoid any kind of mishap. Car makers and property dealers initiated mega benefit on automobiles and infrastructure, respectively, throughout the period, to attract buyers towards profitable deals and discount offers.

Navratra Special Thali remained one of the favorite food items of many people who kept fast during Navratri, to treat their taste buds with appetizing satvik ingredients.
