350 Runs! No Big Deal for India

October 31
06:38 2013

india winOctober 31 – If it is mentioned that Indian cricket is at its pinnacle, then it would not be wrong in any case. The marvelous show created yesterday by mesmerizing innings by Indian batsmen would be cherished for long time. Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium in Nagpur on Wednesday was fully occupied and cricket fans were on cloud nine when the winning runs came from the bat of Indian skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni who brilliantly stole couple of runs in the final over.

The gigantic target of 350 started to look insignificant as soon as Indian openers –Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan – began their innings with the motto to beat Australia and level the series anyhow by 2-2 and repeated their knocks what they have played in Jaipur. Such victorious moments come rarely in cricket history when a team seems highly committed to win a match, repeating their superb performances once again what they have done in the same series in Jaipur, chasing the target of 361 set by Aussies.

Match on October 30 turned out to be a game to remember with G Bailey hitting a knock of 156 runs, Shane Watson getting a total of 102 runs, Shikar Dhawan striking a ton, Virat Kohli – a smashing 115 runs and Rohit Sharma – 79 runs. In the Nagpur pitch, there was hardly something for bowlers to do. In the first innings, Indian bowling attack by Ravindra Jadeja, R Ashwin, M Shami, B Kumar, Amit Mishra, V Kohli and S Raina appeared just okay when Bailey and Watson began hitting distant sixes and outstanding boundries. However, as soon as Australia started to bowl, ball was in the Indians’ court. With six wickets in hand, India chased the big total of 350 with three balls remaining.

Decider of the match is now the 7th and the last match that will be played on November 2, just a day prior to Diwali festival. Leveling the series by 2 -2, Indian team can at least breathe a sigh of relief, however, middle order batsman Yuvraj Singh and Raina will have to show some consistency as far as topic of scoring runs is concerned. But if criticism has to be kept apart, then it is the time for Indian fans to enjoy watching best cricket from the home team, wherein youngsters are performing just immaculately.
