Impressive Turnout in Haryana, Maharashtra Shows Good Sign for Democracy

October 16
15:36 2014

pollsNew Delhi, Thursday, October 16 – On Wednesday, when Haryana and Maharashtra went to polls, a lot of voters chose to come out of their house and made their vote count. Participation of electors in the election has made one point clear and that is – residents are now in no mood to elect a government that has nothing got to do with the common man’s problems.

Higher rates of household goods, kitchen staples and increase in petrol & diesel prices at different time intervals without any prior notice had bothered them. To get rid of such issues, several inhabitants cast their ballets in favor of favorite parties and candidates. If exit polls are to be trusted then Bharatiya Janata Party is likely to win by majority. Voting in 2 states a day ago took place in the midst of cheerful voters, who keenly waited for their chance to vote and elect contenders who could initiate programs that could be fruitful for them in the near future.

76 percent turnout in Haryana and 63.4 percent attendance in Maharashtra clearly signify that people are up for change. In the total 288 seats of Maharashtra, BJP is predicted to win 151 seats, leaving Shiv Sena, Congress, NCP and Others far behind. Story doesn’t seem to be different in the other state as well where it is supposed to get 52 seats out of 90 seats.

If prediction turns true then ‘Modi factor’ could be a key reason for their success.  Here is to mention that magic of Modi made BJP taste humongous victory in 16th Lok Sabha elections. Despite the fact that leaders of popular political parties bad-mouthed their opponents, BJP-led National Democratic Alliance tasted humongous victory in the polls which held a few months ago. With just 3 days to remain for the results, the level of excitement touches a new peak. The mega face-off of democracy appears to be heading in the right direction as surprising percentage of voting was recorded on October 15.
