India Gear Up to Put Best Foot Forward in Dharamsala ODI against West Indies

dhoni ODINew Delhi, Wednesday, October 15 – After a couple of days, India and West Indies will compete against each other at Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium, Dharamsala, wherein 4th One-Day International match will be played. Preparations are at top gear to successfully host the upcoming contest. Since both the teams are at equal stage by winning 1 match each, hundred percent efforts are likely to be poured by young & experienced players, in order to win the next one and take the lead, which is crucial to pocket the series.

This is the reason why more than a few blitzes are anticipated to be witnessed on Friday, October 17. In view of the fact that all players of the guest and host teams would try to put their best foot forward, the expectations of a stunning game get a boost. It is difficult for any ‘playing XI’ to beat India on their soil. By logging a massive triumph in the first ODI of 5-match series, West Indies proved they are not going to play like an underdog any more. Here is to mention that they failed to exhibit amazing show with the bat and ball in their previous tour of India. But the way Caribbean cricketers outshined India in the first match gave a hint to Mahendra Singh Dhoni and his team that story could be different this year.

However, the way India came back into the ongoing series by winning the second ODI, defending ‘not so bigger’ total, is also commendable. Mohammed Shami and Ravindra Jadeja made West Indies to succumb early and fall short of 48 runs to emerge as a champ at the end. At a certain stage, it was strongly apparent that India wouldn’t be able to stop WI at a score of 215 runs in Delhi ODI. But team efforts did an impossible thing possible, playing pivotal role in letting India equalize the series. Now, when 3rd match, which was scheduled to take place at Visakhapatnam on Tuesday, was cancelled due to poor weather conditions, significance of a victory has increased for the teams that are led by right-handed batsman Dwayne Bravo and wicketkeeper-batsman Dhoni.

When discussion is made on cricket and best teams playing this sport in an awesome manner, it is impossible not to consider Indian players. Opponents see India as a unit which has biggest batting lineup. Despite the fact that experts keep chatting about their bowling skills, all mouths were shut by Dhoni on more than a few occasions given he continued to encourage every player to do his best. Nonetheless, scope of improvement remains in this regard for sure but what then when top and middle order batsmen lose their wickets without contributing significant runs in the team’s total! Any combination could fail until and unless players aren’t self-motivated to do well and lend a hand to all the teammates to be unbeaten. A success here is vital for having the crucial lead. If India wins next ODI, they would have psychological advantage in the final competition, which will take place at Eden Gardens, Kolkata, on Monday, October 20. Let us wait and watch who sends the rival at the back foot to win the exciting series.
