india vs wiNew Delhi, Friday, October 10 – Preparations at Feroz Shah Kotla, Delhi, are in full swing as India and West Indies are all set to compete against each other in the 2nd One-Day International. Post logging a win of 124 runs in Kochi ODI, Caribbean cricketers are on cloud nine. Without a doubt, their confidence got a required boost. This is vital to encourage them put their best foot forward in the upcoming matches.

At least a victory in the first contest of the 5-match ODI series would have lend a hand to fade away the bad memories of last year on their tour of India when the host inflicted defeat on them on more than a few occasions. Winning against the ‘men in blue’ on their soil is not at all easy for the opponents given that India have great record of getting the victory in their homeland and in the midst of cheering crowd.

The ongoing series is going to benefit all the cricketers in a number of ways since this will offer them to hone their batting, bowling and fielding skills in the best possible manner. If players like Mohammed Shami, Amit Mishra, Kuldeep Yadav, Mohit Sharma, Umesh Yadav and Bhuvneshwar Kumar would be able to restrict West Indies squad at an attainable total, the key Indian batsmen for instance skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Ajinkya Rahane, Virat Kohli, Shikhar Dhawan, Suresh Raina, Murali Vijay, Ravindra Jadeja and Ambati Rayudu will leave no stone unturned to fulfill their responsibility in an ideal way.

Since in the first match of the current series that took place on Wednesday, October 8, at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Kochi, Indian bowling was completely thrashed by WI. Ball was sent into the fences many a time by Dwayne Bravo’s ‘playing XI’  that alone proves how easy they played Dhoni’s boys. As the time for Cricket World Cup 2015 is coming near, India will have to make this part as strong as they can. If they lack on this aspect, participating squads of cricket carnival may make effort to hit biggies all around the ground which would be troublesome for India. In order to defend the title, scoring huge runs and restrict rivals on smaller total will be of huge importance.

Discussing these sides doesn’t mean that India have lost all the chances to win the scheduled matches against West Indies. Players like Andre Russell, Denesh Ramdin, Jason Holder, Ravi Rampaul, Kemar Roach, Jerome Taylor, Sulieman Benn, Dwayne Smith, Lendl Simmons, Darren Bravo, Marlon Samuels, Leon Johnson, Darren Sammy and Kieron Pollard have the potency to turn the match in their favor but it is also not going to be easy for them to maintain the same pace what they showed in earlier matches. India are considered a unit which has deep batting lineup. Fielders like Kohli, Dhawan, Jadeja, Rayudu etc. save many runs. The only thing they all need is to pay heed to cricket whenever arrive on the crease. Audience is waiting for an interesting contest on Saturday. The outcome is surely going to fetch everyone’s attention for the reason that it would decide whether India are going to level the series by 1-1 or West Indies will put pressure on them by pocketing another match to take a lead of 2-0. Let us wait and watch what happens next.
