Champions League T20 Over; What’s Next on the Cards to Attain by Indian Squad!

14:07 2014

india t20New Delhi, Tuesday, October 7 – This was quite interesting to see that various teams from different countries participated in Champions League T20 but winner’s trophy was won by the home squad. In a competition where Dolphins & Cape Cobras of South Africa, Hobart Hurricanes & Perth Scorchers of Australia, Lahore Lions of Pakistan, Northern Knights of New Zealand, Southern Express of Sri Lanka, Barbados Trident of West Indies and Kings XI Punjab, Mumbai Indians, Kolkata Knight Riders & Chennai Super Kings of India took part to put their best foot forward, it was KKR and CSK that were through to the finals.

Nothing can be a better surprise for the audience other than to find two Indian origin teams in the grand finale of Champions League T20 2014. Despite the fact that to win a match is possible through team efforts, however, as far as upcoming cricket series between India and West Indies that starts from Wednesday, October 8, and cricket World Cup 2015 is kept in mind then performance of Indian cricketers in distinct departments matters a lot. The way 27-year-old Suresh Raina’s bombarded boundaries and sixes in different corners of the ground and young &  passionate Pawan Negi claimed 5 wickets in the final show, it proves India is a country with full of talents. Words of praise seem insufficient most of the time for Indian skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni as he is one of the gifted players who believe is his potential and confidently take the risk of not taking singles whenever massive runs are to be scored from remaining few balls.

Even though format of 20 and 50 over games is totally different but one can’t ignore the truth that huge change has been noticed in the momentum of players who play T20 matches. When they are given chance to perform in One-Day International contests, many of them get success in grabbing the eyeballs. This has been made possible by Twenty20 matches only where participating squads have to score humongous runs in limited balls. Since 50 over will be bowled in the cricket carnival, defending champions will have to pour 200 percent efforts in all the scheduled matches for the reason that rivals should never be supposed weak. India have Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan, Virat Kohli, Ravichandran Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja, Cheteshwar Pujara and many youngsters, making they country a powerful ODI unit.

It is surely not going to be easy for other teams to defeat India at any stage thanks to strong batting lineup. However, bowling skills are yet to be sharpened. No matter how solid is the fielding but when main bowlers miss line & length, batsmen are going to hit the ball harder to put big target on the score board and there would be hardly any chance for the fielders to save runs. The scope of improvement is always here. The thing that could drive passion amongst Indian cricketer team is the self-belief. If players perform as a team and leave no stone unturned to log victory in opposition to the contenders by the means of brilliant individual performances then path to success wouldn’t be difficult at all. It is gonna be exciting to see who wins and who loses in further tournaments. Let us wait and watch.
