The Year 13 graduates at Wellington College Tianjin have had an exceptional year, despite the disruptions caused by COVID-19 throughout their GCSEs and A Levels. Over 30% of the graduates at this Tianjin international school have received offers from the world’s Top 20 universities, including Imperial College, University College London, King’s College London, The University of Edinburgh, The University of Manchester, and the University of the Arts London ranked #2 in the world.

Two pupils from the international school in Tianjin have received two conditional offers from University College London, while one pupil will be attending Johns Hopkins University, which is well-known for its robust STEM programs and groundbreaking research. Other pupils have also been accepted into some of the best institutions in Canada, Australia, Asia, and Europe.

The breadth and quality of these offers are a testament to the hard work and perseverance of all the students, staff, and parents at Wellington College Tianjin. The graduation ceremony on June 2nd was held in school for the first time in two years. The ceremony included speeches, the presentation of graduation certificates, music, and performances by the Year 13 cohort. The event was attended by Mr Julian Fisher, Co-Founder of Venture Education and Vice-Chair of the British Chamber of Commerce in China, who served as the guest of honour.

Ms Joy Qiao, the group CEO who was unable to join in person, sent a video message offering words of encouragement and motivation to the 2023 graduates.

The students have been equipped with the gifts of wisdom, courage, and love that they have acquired here and are now ready to explore the next step of their journey.
